'Tis the Season: What Have Thames Rockets Been Up To Recently?

Published by Holly Bishop 16 days ago

From nostalgic sitcom vibes to snowy globe climbs and an elegant Christmas Lunch river cruise, it’s safe to say the last few weeks have been nothing short of extraordinary for the Thames Rockets team. We’re fully in the festive swing now, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the season has in store. Here what the team have been up to lately:

'The One Where...' We Visited the Friends Exhibition

We kicked things off by stepping into "The One Where... We Visited The Friends Exhibition." Decked out in its festive decorations we explored the legendary sets and relived some of our favorite moments from the show. From Monica’s apartment to Joey and Chandler’s recliners, every detail brought back waves of nostalgia. But for us, the grand finale was raising a glass in the Central Perk Café, officially kicking off the holiday season in true Friends style.

A Magical Climb at The O2: Snow Globe Experience

Next on our festive bucket list was the Up at The O2 experience with their new Snow Globe Experience. We were among the first to step inside London’s highest snow globe, surrounded by falling snowflakes, the scent of freshly baked cookies, and a charming winter wonderland, creating the perfect backdrop for festive photos.

But that’s not all! We soaked up the generous extra 25 minutes to take in all the stunning views of London from above, and soak up the festive atmosphere spotting the twinkling lights in the horizon. To top it off, we were gifted a delicious gingerbread cookie as a sweet memento of the experience.

Festive Feast Afloat: The Annual TML Christmas Lunch

Yesterday, the team attended the annual Christmas Lunch hosted by the team at Thames Marine Services (TMS) Who provide all our fuel to all Rockets! We boarded the Elizabethan for a delightful afternoon, starting with canapés and drinks as we set sail down the River Thames. The highlight of the meal was a mouthwatering two-course feast, featuring pan-fried duck breast followed by a delectable dessert—an orange blossom crème brûlée cupcake. The whole experience was the perfect way to get into the festive spirit!
